Take Home Practices

Page history last edited by Erik Kramer 12 mos ago

Here are the take home practices for students at Mt. Ararat Middle School:

  1. iBooks should ALWAYS be used in a family setting with parents supervising the use of the iBook.  Using and iBook in a bedroom with the door shut is not a recommended practice.

  2. iBooks ALWAYS come home zipped inside the case, carried by the handle.  iBooks should be kept in the bus seat as students ride to and from school.

  3. iBooks are only to be used by the students to whom they are assigned.  Brothers and sisters need to respect iBooks and leave them alone.

  4. Students should use their MLTI iBooks for school assignments and projects to extend and enrich their learning past the school day.

  5. Music can be downloaded from iTunes, but music have appropriate lyrics.  Music labeled “explicit” should not be found in the iTunes library.

  6. Music can be downloaded from CDs, but music have appropriate lyrics.  Due to copyright laws students should only download music from CDs they own.

  7. Students can play and listen to CDs their friends own.

  8. Students can watch movies on the iBook.  Parents should supervise movie choices.

  9. iBooks should be charged each evening, ready for a full day’s use in the morning.

  10. iBooks must remain at school in a locked locker during all athletic events.  This includes home events!  At the end of athletic events students can get iBooks from lockers to bring home.

  11. Students participating in after school activities such as a theater production or yearbook must either lock iBooks in lockers after school if they plan on bringing them home, or have an adult advisor who will secure the iBook during the activity

  12. iBooks should be cleaned at school in the computer lab.  If the iBook needs some cleaning,  bringing it to the lab is a safe, free way to get it cleaned!

  13. Food, drinks, and pets should be kept away from iBooks.
